Obituary of Nina Bruni
Passed away peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital on Friday, August 2, 2024 at the age of 78 years. Beloved wife of the late Frank Bruni. Cherished mother of Dan (Tina) and David (Kristy). Proud grandmother of the late Kurtis Bruni, Courtney Sweeney (Jason) and Mitchell Bruni. Predeceased by her parents Nicola and Linda Lunelli. Sister of the late Santino Lunelli of Italy, late Pantelone Lunelli (Emilia) of Windsor, Adele Tridico (late Agostino) of Windsor, Lucy DiPasquale (late John) of London, Tony (Franca) of Kelowna, BC, Gus Lunelli and Maria Lunelli both of Sault Ste. Marie. Sister-in-law of Pina Mazzuca (late Gaspare) of Sault Ste. Marie, Raffaele Bruni (Elena) of Italy and the late Ada Cuglietta (Armando) of Germany. Loving aunt to her many nieces and nephews.
In 1961 Nina immigrated to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario from Villamagna, Italy. In 1962, she met her soulmate, Frank. They married on September 25, 1965 and had two sons, who they loved tremendously. Nina and Frank were married for 53 years, until his passing in 2019.
Nina was a beautiful mother and grandmother, the heart and soul of our family. Nina’s world revolved around her children and grandchildren. Her heart overflowed with love for all of them. It was evident in her every move that they were her pride and joy. Nina was not only known for her exuberant and selfless love, but also her kindness, sense of humour and passion for cooking. For those who had the pleasure of eating one of Nina’s meals, you could feel the love and amazing flavour in every bite. Needless to say, she left an imprint on everyone she met.
At Nina’s request, a private family service was held. Memorial donations to Princess Margaret Cancer Research or Tracy’s Dream would be greatly appreciated by the family.
Nina would like us to extend a special thank you to her sister-in-law, Pina Mazzuca and niece, Angela Guzzo for all the love, support and care throughout the years. Thank you to the Sault Area Hospital Cancer Clinic for providing excellent care, especially Dr. Voutsadakis, Kate, Sarah and Dr. Katie Woolner. A special thank you to Dr. Marcus Bernardini and his team and Princess Margaret Cancer Institute of Research. Without your care, Nina would not have had the additional years with her beloved family.
